There is nothing better than the feeling of getting paid, and blowing a majority of your check on a well needed shopping spree. I know the feeling, and it can be quite rejuvenating. The issue is, some stores like to play little tricks on avid shoppers like myself and I must say, it don’t appreciate it! Here are some things that clothing stores shouldn’t do!
1) Put outfits in their windows that they don’t sell- There is nothing worse than passing by a clothing store and looking in the window and the thing that makes you stop and stare is that fabulous outfit in the window. You decided to take a look in the store, and you’re searching and searching and searching, and you still cant find that outfit. So now you wasted your time and energy that could have been spent in another store! Not cool.
2) Have a bulk amount of one size- For some reason, certain stores either make their clothing sizes either too small or too big. For example a size small can sometimes be worn by a person who wears a medium, because there sizes run big. No biggie right? Who doesn’t want to feel like they lost weight? Well, issue is when sizes run too big or too small, there tends to be nothing but the leftovers of sizes that nobody wants. No fun.
3) Pretending that everyone is a size 0-2- Lets be real, the average size of a woman in the US is a 12, so I cant understand why certain stores choose to run sizes that completely go against the reality of what their customers wear. So when you go to a store and realize, wow, I wear a 8…yet i cant fit anything, it can be very disappointing.
4) Calling pleather, leather- There is nothing worse than having a store label something as leather, when we damn well know that its nothing close to what leather is, and the worst of the worst is when they try to charge you an arm and a leg for fake leather! Who are they trying to fool!?
5) Getting me to sign up for store credit- Macy’s is known for doing this to me, and each and every time I’m offered a store credit card, I politely tell the cashier, “no thanks, i don’t want a credit card with an interest rate that compares to those of a loan shark”. Store credit cards get you with the discounts you can get when opening an account, but reality is once that bill comes in, and you see that interest rate…you will regret opening an account!
Shopping is always an adventure, and its even more fun when stores like to try make you adventure much more interesting! Happy shopping!
