New to the city? In the city that never sleeps, you’ll see women hobbling around in heels that are ruining their feet, hailing for cabs that never stop and sweating their makeup off in the heat of the NYC transit system. It happens to the best of us, but here are some tips that I have for trendy ladies who like to stay on point while making moves in NYC.
1) Buy some fashionable flats

You know you’ve seen that girl. The one hobbling around in her heels walking down 14th street headed toward her destination. Although her shoes may be stunning, shes looking anything but that, when struggling to make her way down the street. Dont be that girl. Pack some flats. Invest in some trendy pointy toe flats in neutral colors so that when the heels become to much to handle, the flats can easily sub in and save the day. Trust me, nothing is cute about painfully swollen toes.
2) Try a Car ServiceImage may be NSFW.

Got somewhere important to go? Instead of going through the annoying task of hailing a cab try Uber or another car service that can pick you up at your house. You can establish the cost over the phone, save yourself the headache of sticking your leg out to get a cab on a busy NYC street, and you can show up to your destination, unscathed. Sounds like a win to me!
3) Dont be afraid of the MTAImage may be NSFW.

The MTA can be a nightmare or a blessing depending on how you make use of it. My best advice is to plan ahead. Literally, anytime I take the train, I go online and check to see if there’s any delays or construction. A normal 35 minute commute can become an hour and nothing is worst than being late to an event. So plan ahead, and save yourself some money on transportation and instead spend it on something cute, LOL.
4) Avoid moisturizer ( if you can) in the summerImage may be NSFW.

I can not stress this enough, NYC is HUMID in the summer. You will sweat your makeup off. You will sweat your hair out. You will be a sweaty mess. It’s inevitable! Especially if you are on the go. The trains can be a hot box and the streets can be just as bad. So ditch the full body moisturizing routine that you used in the winter or be liberal with your application.
5) SmileImage may be NSFW.

New Yorkers have a bad reputation for being “mean” or having an “atitude”. Its actually funny how both France and NYC ( both fashionable destinations) have a similar reputation hmm.. But yeah smile, say good morning to a door man or a random stranger. You never know who you might be smiling at!
Until next time lovelies!
