So I missed the Billboard music awards because of my Sunday night Bravo reality TV Sunday lineup, but my fixation with fashion has not died. Its been awhile since I have written a post, but I am back and better then ever!
First of all I just want to say a few things about some trends going on.
This pastel fad going on…truly is not meant for everyone. I don’t know how I feel about the mint greens and the baby pinks. I also don’t know how I feel trolling the streets seeing people decked out head to toe drenched in pastels. So what I have come to terms with when it comes to this trend is that less is more.

How have I been wearing this trend? Mostly on my nails and with accessories. For some reason, I cannot get on board with a full-blown pastel outfit. Maybe it is because I’m a petite young woman who on a typical day gets mistaken for a 16 year old or maybe I am not a fan of this trend. Whatever the reason, I have decided to wear pastels sparingly if at all.
Second, this leather trend or shall I say “pleather” trend…in the summer is a bit much. Now that it is getting warm outside, pleather tights have been the go-to for many women. Ripped or cutout pleather leggings worn on a casual everyday basis just seems to be I don’t know, tacky for lack of a better word.

Now don’t get me wrong, trendy fashion forward people that choose to go for pleather/leather leggings for a lunch date in the middle of the workweek, do the damn thing!
However, time and place and let’s not forget, too much of a good thing is never a good thing. So be gentle with the leather AKA lets not over do it.
Last but not least, the wedge sneaker trend. NEEDS TO END ASAP. I won’t lie, I definitely found myself browsing through one of my favorite stores and picking up a very cute pair of burgundy wedge sneakers. I looked them up and down, and said to myself. “So this time next year, where will you be wearing this?” Then I had to second that thought with, if I want to be sexy in the summer I may want to rock a cute pair of wedges not wedge sneakers.

See the sad part is, these are not terrible. Hmm maybe I may re-think the sneaker wedge, nah. Ill pass.
I don’t know, I am not a big fan of this super fad trend. I’m hoping this does not continue into the fall because I will not be wearing them.
Lets face it; we all have an opinion and mine is this. Pleather and pastels should we worn sparingly and wedge sneakers shouldn’t be worn at all. Stay trendy fashionistas!
