Tech & Fashion, What Gives?

So, I was reading through some articles and I stumbled upon an interesting article on Fashionista.com. It mentioned how retail stores were planning on doing a “overhaul” in 2014, a mobile overhaul to be precise. It states that this year companies will begin to create apps to better serve their customers.

Umm is it just me or is this not a little too late in the game? There is literally an app for everything! You need a cab, there’s Uber. You need to take photos that you don’t want people to store, theres SnapChat. For goodness sakes, if you want to zone out for a min and immerse yourself in a senseless game, there’s Candy Crush!

I’m just so confused as to why there aren’t any prominent Fashion Apps available. I’m sure someone will get on this, and then there will be a sudden trend- but I wonder if there is a deeper reasoning behind it.

Is it that retail stores assume that people aren’t using their phone to shop? I mean that can’t be the case! Nowadays an iPhone is equivalent to a thumb, you cant live without it! So, its shocking that there isn’t someone out there building an app, and they’re keeping quite until their ready for launch.

I just feel like it’s a niche market that has a lot of potential. Oh well, until then I guess I’ll just stick to shopping online…the good ol’ fashioned way.
